Pumpkin Patch Fun x 3!

I waited until the very last week before Halloween, but we have managed to make it to the pumpkin patch 3 times in the past week!

On Thursday we met up with Missy and Nate and went to the pumpkin patch at our church. It never fails that when we get together with Missy and Nate that Carter is a terror and Nate is a perfect little pumpkin. Thursday was no exception. At first Carter saw the nursery workers at church and didn't want me to put him down (I think he was afraid I was going to drop him off there.) So we spent awhile just walking around the patch until he warmed up to everything. Then all he wanted to do was run around like a crazy man! We took tons of pictures but I don't think we got a single one where both boys were looking and smiling. In better news, how precious is little Nate?

On Friday Matt left work early so we could run to a different pumpkin patch before it closed. Here we did get a few good pictures of Carter- I think he was in a better mood since his Daddy was around ;)  We also purchased our pumpkins for carving! Carter did such a good job picking all of them out and pushing the wheelbarrow ;)

And I can't get over this comparison picture from the past two Octobers! Can't believe my baby is so big!

On Saturday we met back up at our church to get some pictures with Brooxie Kate and Aunt La. Again, Carter was in no mood for pictures PLUS a rotten pumpkin exploded on him as soon as we got there. Nothing like slimy pumpkin to ruin a cute outfit :/
I can't wait for Brooks' age when Carter will actually listen when I tell him to sit still and smile...by then the twins will be one and acting crazy like him, lol!

I still can't believe that when we go back next year we will have THREE little pumpkins with us!!

16 Weeks

October 29, 2013

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 16 weeks
Size of babies: avocados
Genders: we find out tomorrow!
Maternity clothes: all the way
Weight gain: 7 pounds
Belly growth:  6 inches!!
Movement: Yes! Both are kicking and stretching, but especially Baby A!  Matt has not been able to feel anything yet.
Sleep: finally sleeping really good, except I wake up every morning at 4:17am on the dot.  So strange! Still very tired throughout the day.
Symptoms: sporadic sickness, skin is still breaking out, severe moodiness and leg cramps at night
Cravings: ice cold water and fruit.  Nothing sounds good or tastes good right now so I'm having a really hard time eating anything.
What I miss: bending over easily, bathing Carter comfortably, basically anything where I'm bending over my belly.  It's amazing how early I'm feeling to big and uncomfortable.
Best moment this week: belly kisses from my little man!
Best husband moment/quote: Poor Matty is getting the worst of me these days.  I'm so tired and cranky at night when he gets home I feel like all I do is nag and complain to him.  But sweet man still rubs my legs at night when they are cramping!
Notes: belly is sensitive to touch, especially when Carter is sitting in my lap laying against my chest

October Wrap-Up

I can't believe it's almost November! November and December are always so fun and jam-packed with activities, shopping, prepping and a little stress.  But this month we've managed to stay busy but not overfill our schedules with commitments and busyness.  Between the pregnancy brain and the mommy brain it all seems like a lot of mush to me, so I'll post a few pictures to wrap-up the last month before the madness begins.

Swim Lessons
This month Carter started an Infant Survival course at a local swim academy.  Since both sets of grandparents have pools and I have a FEARLESS baby who likes to jump right in, we decided we better get him in some lessons.  He started the first week of the month and goes 4 days a week for 15 minute one-on-one sessions with an instructor.  He cries the ENTIRE time for every lesson, but has made so much progress.  This is our last full week before we switch to a two day per week schedule and right now he is working on getting across the pool alternating between "swimming"/kicking and rolling over to his back to float.  He definitely has not mastered anything, but he really is doing so good.  I'm not allowed to take pictures or videos (boo) but I did sneak this picture the last lesson.  They have to burp the babies often since they take in so much water so that's what she's doing in the picture.

Football
We're in the "hard" part of the season where it just seems like it's never going to end.  Matt is working 7 days a week and rarely, if ever, makes it home in time at night to see Carter.  I don't mind the nights alone but I would give anything for him to be off at least one day per weekend.  The weekends are the hardest.  BUT, we're still undefeated and have a BIG game coming up this weekend against Cinco Ranch.  Then only one more game until playoffs start!

Favorites
A few of Carter's favorite things this month include: "driving" in our cars, reading books, bubbles, Mickey Mouse, and making faces for the camera.  As soon as you try to take a picture of him he makes the funniest faces! Bless his heart, I'm not sure where all of this personality comes from ;)

Pumpkin Patch Fun
I have a separate post coming up detailing all of our fun, but we have been busy hitting up all of the area pumpkin patches.  Here's a sneak peek:

School Portraits
I seriously can't even handle the cuteness that is these pictures.  I got these when I dropped him off at school this morning and ugly cried when I got to my car.  I just can't believe that this child is MINE.  I'm so blessed to be his mama (oh, and the funny hand is because he just threw a pumpkin at the photographer.)

Coming up this week: haircuts for both of us, more swim lessons, Halloween Party/ Gender Reveal and turning 17 months!

15 Weeks

October 22, 2013

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 15 weeks
Size of babies: oranges
Genders: we find out next Wednesday!
Maternity clothes: I am wearing my maternity jeans everyday, but a combo of mat/non-mat tops
Weight gain: 5 pounds
Belly growth:  4 inches
Movement: it's hard to explain, but I'm feeling something.  It can't really be described as movement or "flutters," but I can tell something is going on in there.  I defnitely would not have noticed it had this been my first pregnancy.
Sleep: I got one of those huge pregnancy pillows (that I hated with Carter) and it is a GAME CHANGER! I sleep all night, every night.
Symptoms: I thought I was out of the woods with the sickness but I randomly got sick on Monday morning.  Hoping it was just a one-time thing.  Otherwise I feel great!
Cravings: ice cold water and fruit.  Nothing sounds good or tastes good right now so I'm having a really hard time eating anything.
What I miss: any movements involving my abs
Best moment this week: hematoma is officially GONE!!
Best husband moment/quote: this didn't come from Matt, but I've randomly had two strangers in the last few days ask me if "it's my first/second?" baby (depending if Carter is with me or not.)  It's totally a shock when I tell them it's my second AND third! :)
Notes: I don't have to go in for another OB appointment for 3 weeks!!!

14 Weeks

October 15, 2013

Pregnancy Highlights:
How far along: 14 weeks
Size of babies: lemons
Genders: still assuming it's B/G twins, but we have had fun playing around with B/B and G/G names
Maternity clothes: I am wearing my maternity jeans everyday, but a combo of mat/non-mat tops
Weight gain: 4 pounds
Belly growth:  4.5 inches
Movement: I still think I can feel a small kick here and there, especially if I'm leaning forward
Sleep: I've gone back to having trouble sleeping.  I'm tired at night, but cannot fall asleep or stay asleep
Symptoms: still getting sick, but it's definitely getting better
Cravings: ice cold water
What I miss: comfortably sleeping on my stomach
Best moment this week: I've had two days in the past week with NO sickness! Praying this means I am on the way out of this phase.  And hello second trimester!!
Best husband moment/quote: When Matt comes home from work now he sits with me for a second and just rubs my belly.  We never say anything but it's a sweet time together.
Notes: I've figured out the peanut butter is a trigger for my sickness, so I've been much better since cutting it from my diet.

October 15

We will again be lighting a candle tonight (I actually already have ours lit and will keep it burning all day) in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.  I'm so thankful for ALL of our babies...the one in Heaven, the one in my arms, and the two in my belly.

"These are my footprints,
so perfect and so small.
These tiny footprints
never touched the ground at all.
Not one tiny footprint,
for now I have wings.
These tiny footprints were meant
for other things.
You will hear my tiny footprints,
in the patter of the rain.
Gentle drops like angel's tears,
of joy and not from pain.
You will see my tiny footprints,
in each butterflies' lazy dance.
I'll let you know I'm with you,
if you just give me the chance.
You will see my tiny footprints,
in the rustle of the leaves.
I will whisper names into the wind,
and call each one that grieves.
Most of all, these tiny footprints,
are found on Mommy and Daddy's hearts.
'Cause even though I'm gone now,
We'll never truly part."

Football season update

Six weeks into the season and I'm just now getting around to a football update! I blame the morning sickness!

Katy 41 - Klein 3
Katy 49 - Alief Taylor 0
Katy 37 - The Woodlands 13
Katy 42 - Mayde Creek 0
Katy 28 - Morton Ranch 3
Katy 44 - Taylor 0

This season has been much different than seasons past.  In the past seven seasons I have only missed one game and it was when both Carter and I were sick and the game was in Waco and televised.  ONE out of 105 games...that's not a shabby record.  This year between the pregnancy and my overactive toddler I've made it to 3.  In my defense the hematoma kept me away from 2 of the 3 that I missed so I could have a much better attendance record.

Even without me and Carter there the Tigers are on a roll and don't plan to stop anytime soon.  This season has definitely been the most stressful for Matt, for whatever reason.  He is working really ridiculous house, often not getting home until after 10pm and leaving before 6am.  Poor thing is just exhausted on Sunday mornings (the only day he can sleep in) but still chooses to get up and do "morning duty" with Carter Man.

Football games with a toddler...not my favorite.   Carter just wants to run around the stadium and does NOT like to stay in our arms on in his seat in the stands.  So me, PawPaw or Nana are always taking turns running after him.  And since he goes to bed around 7:30pm we usually end up leaving during halftime.  I might look into finding a babysitter once playoffs start so I can actually go to the game and WATCH what is going on, and be able to stay until the end.
OMG...is he thirteen?!?!

Six down, hopefully ten more to go!
