Some cuties, some bugs and a few pups

So I went to upload my pictures from this weekend and realized I never blogged about our spring football game!  What a bad wife I am!  Now, I know you probably don’t care too much about our spring football game, but how cute are these little ones?!?

001

The two on the left, Sydney and Parker, belong to my friend Sarah, and you know the one on the right (although she has grown quite a bit since December) Keegan.  I spent most of my time at the game playing with these little ones.  I could just eat them up!

Oh yeah, and Matt’s white team won!

So there is my make-up work.  Sorry I kept these cuties from you for so long.

This weekend we headed up to Lake Livingston to spend some time with Aunt Debbie, Kaelynn and Cooper.  We had a great time swimming, tubing, jet skiing, eating, napping and just relaxing.  Matt and I both got out of bed this morning and just moaned because our whole bodies hurt from being on the water all weekend.  But hey, at least we could count it as a workout, right?!

Some cute pups!

We had a great time this weekend and it was good to finally see Aunt Debbie and the kids.  She is heading up to Carmel for the summer so it will be awhile until we see them again.  Have fun in Cali for us!!

This is our last week of school!!!  Yay!!!  All we have to do this week is administer our finals and clear out our classrooms.  It will be a lot of work packed into a short amount of time but the end product will be amazing!!!  Can’t wait to get this summer started!

Who will it be??

For those of you out there who have been keeping up with this season of Dancing with the Stars, who are you voting for?  I am not a huge fan of ballroom dancing or this show, but I have been watching this season and have really found myself looking forward to Monday nights!  The cast of celebrities this season has really made it interesting and easy to get hooked to.  This week we are in the finals and we are looking at:

ESPN Host, Erin Andrews

erin

Erin is Matt’s favorite (not that he has a fair vote, he only watches when she is on) for obvious reasons.  She was on her college dance team at University of Florida so she has a little dance background.   She has grown the most BY FAR this season and really is a joy to watch.  Her chemistry with Maks is electric!

Olympic Gold Medal Winner, Evan Lysacek

evan

It’s hard not to love Evan, he just is so sweet!  Evan is a world champion figure skater so he knows performance and works harder than any of the other contestants.  It took me awhile to warm up to Evan, but now I LOVE watching him dance.   His partner Anna is too cute too!  I find myself rooting for him each week and I am SOOO glad he is in the finals.

Pop Star, Nicole Scherzinger

Nicole

Nicole raised a ruckus when she entered the competition because she has such extensive experience performing.  She was the lead singer of the girl group Pussycat Dolls and was lucky enough to be partnered with my favorite professional, Derek Hough.  There is no other dancer in the world I would rather watch dance than Derek Hough (yes…I know that is a very bold statement from me, he is THAT GOOD!)  Nicole has been so good from the start and has just gotten better each week.  She was a shoo-in for the finals.

Between these three I really have NO IDEA who I want to win.  I guess I will be happy with any of the remaining three dancers.  The freestyle dances usually decide it for me so I guess we should stay tuned!

Who will YOU be voting for in the DWTS final???

Happy birthday Matty!

Twenty-six years ago today my sweet, darling husband was born. We have now know each other almost half of our lives and I am so glad that God brought this wonderful man into my life. We have so much fun together everyday and I can’t wait to share the rest of our days together.

Happy birthday sweetheart! We will be spending the night at our spring football game, more on that to come!

Tessellations

Every spring the week after the dreaded TAKS test the 7th grade works on a tessellation project.  They are fun and the kids really have a good time being “creative” in math class.

I am so proud of how hard they worked (well…how hard some of them worked) and wanted to share with you.  Enjoy!

Kentucky Derby

This past weekend was the most exciting 2 minutes in sports….the Kentucky Derby!  Matt and I are not big horse racing fans, nor are we big betters, but our friends hosted a Kentucky Derby party so, of course, we had to go!

We went all out in nice clothes, big hats, we drank mint julips and had Kentucky Fried Chicken.  It was a blast and Mike and Missy were wonderful hosts.

Mike was the big winner of the night betting $20 against the field on the eventual winner.  (He says the trick is to bet on the jockey, not the horse.)

Can’t wait to do this again next year!

You know it’s spring football when….

It’s that time of year again….SPRING FOOTBALL!  Yes, yes, we don’t just play football in the fall here in Katy, Texas.  The boys spend about a month in the spring prepping the new team, finalizing positions and seeing where the fall season might take them.  We are a week down and I thought it might be cute to give you a little glimpse into our lives right now.

You know it’s spring football when:

  • Your husband fails to get home before 8:30….9:30….10pm during the week.
  • The dinner you have made and put in the microwave for your husband to have when he finally gets home never gets eaten, because….
  • When he finally comes home he goes straight to the shower, followed quickly by bed.
  • Your floors are covered in turf grass, ensuing weekly….bi-weekly vacuum duty by yours truly!
  • Your laundry basket is FULL of two colors: red and white.  And you not only must do one but TWO full loads of each color every week.
  • Your husbands eyes resemble raccoons from wearing sunglasses outside for extensive periods of time.
  • His skin is the color of night (you should see how white his feet are!)
  • You go through copious amounts of sunscreen.
  • When he is awake long enough to talk to you your conversations are mainly about sweeps, pitches, drops, coverages, goal line stances, etc
  • Your Friday nights are early nights because the alarm goes off at 6am on Saturday for scrimmages.

The list goes on and on.  Lisa, feel free to add at will!

We’ve been busy, but he loves every second of it and neither of us would change our lives for the world.  Mark your calendars for May 18th (Matty’s birthday) when spring ball comes to an end at the Red and White game.
