Blog update

So apparently it is our internet that is preventing me from posting.  Grrr!!!  I seriously have tried EVERYTHING to figure out why my posts aren’t being published.  Everyday I come home and retry my previous post to no avail.  Finally I tried posting from the same computer on a different wireless network and TA DA!  Guess Consolidated will be getting a piece of my mind later!

Demolition day!

Matt’s parents are in the process of building their dream home, but first they have to tear down their current house.  Yesterday and today the old house came down!  I have to say I was a little sad to see the old house torn down.  We have so many memories there; that is where Matt proposed! I can’t wait for the new house to be built so we can start making new memories.  Here are some pictures of the demolition:

This is all that was left today!

For the next (hopefully) six months Matt’s parents will be living in this beauty:

House 014

It really is the cutest “manufactured home” you have ever seen.  We could totally live in one of those, preferably on a body of water. :)

The plan is to be in the new house by Christmas.  I will keep you updated on the progress between now and then.

Frustration

So apparently my blog hates me.  I've tried posting from Windows Live Writer, from Blogger, contacting Windows help, and calling my Internet service provider with no luck.  I can't seem to upload pictures at all which is weird because I've never had that problem before.  I have cheer camp this week so I won't have much time to look into the problem but will try my best to get this figured out soon. Sorry!

Bay for the 4th

Surely if you have been reading the ole blog for awhile you know who I am talking about when I mention Uncle Gary, Aunt Denese, Drew and Todd.  Drew was the one who got married in Bastrop in March.

*Backstory- My mom and Aunt Denese have been friends since high school and although they are not technically family they are the closest thing we have to cousins on my moms side.  We have spent every Christmas Eve, birthday, summer vacation and 4th of July with them for as long as I can remember.

When Ike came he washed away the house Uncle Gary’s company had down in San Leon (close to Kemah.)  Since Ike they have rebuilt both the company house and a new bay house!  So on Sunday my mom, dad, and sister (and Brooks!) ventured down to see the new bay house.

We had so much fun seeing everyone, eating some very delicious food, and being on the water.  We can’t wait to go back!

We found a picture from several 4th of July’s ago where the 5 of us kids sat with Linda and Claude and the ice cream maker.  We think I was about 5 in the picture which would make Drew and Laura 2 and Todd 1.  We re-created the picture this weekend and plan the frame the two pictures together.  That was over 20 years ago!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

A visit from Ella and Emily

My BFF Emily and her precious daughter Ella came to visit last weekend for Laura’s shower and stayed for a few days.  Last summer I spent a week up in Midlothian visiting but Ella was still in Emily’s tummy at that time! It was so fun having them here and just getting to play with Ella all day.  She is such a happy little baby- I can’t get enough of her.

She looks just like her daddy in this picture, although I think most of the time she favors her momma.

Bath time!

We took an afternoon and went to see Ally, Micah and Laurel.  Ally’s children are just adorable! Micah has grown up so much since we last saw him and I could just eat him up!

Matty just fell in love with Ella while she was here.  He is still talking about her!

Ella also got to visit with Mama K and Daddy J (my parents- soon to be grandparents!) and gave them a little taste of what is to come.

Thank you Emily for sharing your summer with  me and helping me get ready for Brooks’ arrival in a few short weeks.  You are the best and I love you!!
