L'Auberge

This past weekend our little took his first trip out of state to Lake Charles.  We stayed with Matt's family at the L'Auberge Casino and had a great time altogether.  And we survived our first time traveling with a baby!

Our baby had his first 6-hour stretch of sleep Thursday night and went from 10pm-4am! Afterwards he then wanted to play.  By 8:30 I was exhausted and took a nap so we got a slow start on Friday.  By the time Matt and I showered and packed and had lunch it was 3:30.  We hit Friday afternoon Houston traffic and then had to stop to nurse so by the time we got to Lake Charles it was 8:30.  Yes, it took us 5 hours to make a 2 hour trip.  Lesson learned...pack a bottle.

We did make a pit stop at the state line to document baby's first trip to Louisiana.

We took all these pictures and then turned around and saw this sign:
If only Jase and Si from Duck Dynasty were there to save us.

Saturday the guys and Sara left at 4:30 for fishing so me, Stephanie, Mrs. Diana and the little boys had the day to ourselves.  We had a nice breakfast at the hotel and had plenty of time to just stroll and people watch.  Stephanie and Mason hit up the pool and lazy river while Mrs. Diana and I relaxed in front of the TV and met Aunt Edie at Chick-fil-A.

By the time the fishermen returned it was rainy and gloomy and perfect time for a nap.

After MUCH debate we went out to eat for dinner and I had the most delicious po-boy sandwich.  Monkey man slept through dinner on Nana's lap.

Family pic!

Once we got back to the hotel Nana and PawPaw babysat while Sara, Randy, Matt and I hit the casino.  I lost $20, Matt won $0.01 and Randy won big playing roulette.  Later that night (or early the next morning) Mrs. Diana won big on the penny slots.

This is what we came back to.  Like PawPaw like grandson.

Good news...the return trip only took us 3 hours!
