Football State Champion Rings

At the end of spring break we got a very nice delivery...our new state championship rings!  KHS makes the delivery very special and has a big presentation where all of the kids get their rings at one time.  Along with the presentation of the rings, there were other community groups there to honor the team.  Waller County declared March 17th "Gary Joseph Day" and he was given a large framed photo for being named National Coach of the Year.  The US Army presented the captains with the "Stay Strong" Team of the Year Award and Westside Chevy presented the team with a very large trophy.  The sweetest moment came when the captains presented their moms with footballs signed by the entire team.  Those babies sure will be worth something one day! Although this was not our first ring, receiving a ring is still something very special and something we will always remember.

This year we also ordered a very nice engraved display case.  Before this we were keeping all of Matt's rings and my pendants in a drawer in separate boxes, so now they are nicely displayed on our dresser.  It even lights up when opened!  I was planning on getting a display case made for Matt's birthday so I guess I will need to think of something else!

It was hard to get a good, close-up photo that was in focus, but here's what I got:

Back row: 2007, 2012, Team of the Decade, 2008
Front row: All-Star Coach 2009, 2007 pendant, 2012 pendant, 2008 pendant, 2000
