Happy Love Day!

Valentines Day has always been my favorite holiday.  Yes, I love my husband EVER day of the year, not just today, but I love that we have a designated day to re-focus on each other.  Even if others think of it as a “Hallmark Holiday.”  I call those people the Valentine’s Scrooges!  Lol!

I have the most wonderful husband who is taking me out for sushi tonight and bought me a VERY generous gift card to the spa (thanks, Mom!)  I do not deserve the love he has for me, especially with all the crazy he has put up with lately, but I’m glad he does.

Matt, I love you because:

  • You talk to me in your sleep every night, even if you don’t remember it the next morning
  • You make my coffee for me in the morning and let Cooper out so I don’t have to wait on him before I leave- now that’s love!
  • You email/call/text non-stop when it’s bad weather outside making sure I’m okay, and even let me drive your car when the roads are wet
  • You watch Thursday night TV with me and are sure to push pause on the remote if I step away for a second
  • You help me clean the house/ do chores…a request I’ve been making repeatedly over the years and you have FINALLY caught on
  • You encourage me when I’m having a bad day/week and help me to de-stress (which I should definitely do more often!)
  • You let me cry/ be crazy/ scream and yell every month after another inevitable bit of bad news from the doctor
  • You let me decorate the house in way I want and never complain if anything is too “girly”
  • You don’t get angry at the endless amount of pedicure’s I get
  • You help me be a better person

I love you Matthew Ryan, always and forever.

Dear Cooper,

Once upon a time you were a wee pup.  You fell asleep in your food bowl, refused to sleep anywhere but my bed, and tried your best to potty everywhere BUT the backyard.  I loved you anyway.

Now you spend most of your time sleeping on the couch, people-watching out the dining room window, sleeping in the closet, rolling in the grass, and sleeping by the tv.  It’s hard work being you!  I love you anyway.

You are an excellent blanket and can almost cover my whole leg when we lay down.  You know how to snuggle up just right so you still have maximum room both on the mattress and across my legs.  I love you anyway.

Please don’t be mad at mommy that I have to take you for a haircut on Saturday.  It’s your least favorite activity EVER.  I promise to make it up to you with a giant pig ear and plenty of tummy rubs.  Deal?

Love,

Mommy

Animal

So after my vacuum caught on fire Sunday night I had a pickle: take this as a sign from the big man and stop vacuuming altogether, or spend a ridiculous amount of money on a new vacuum?  As much as I would LOVE to just stop vacuuming, it’s just not an option when you have one of these living with you:

Cooper

Fully grown out his hair is about 3-4 inches long, but we try to keep him groomed most of the year.  I hated to spend money on a chore that I already loathed doing, but I also didn’t want to be “that girl” that had dog hair covering all of her clothes.

My solution:

dyson

Let me present to you the Dyson DC28 Animal vacuum.  This thing is a beast.  I mean, it practically sucks the soil from the earth beneath the floors I am vacuuming, lol!  It gets up every.single.spec. of dirt in the entire house.  And the best part  is that the attachments are specifically designed to handle pet-hair removal from furniture and other tricky places in the house.

If you are even remotely thinking about it I would highly recommend this purchase!
