This is what I saw when I got in my car this afternoon, RIDICULOUS! Poor Matt, I cannot imagine working outside for as long as he does everyday in this weather. Praying for a coldfront! Ha!

Fun first fall football weekend
Say that three times fast, haha!
The weekend started on Friday with us traveling to Galena Park for the opening game of the season, Katy vs. North Shore. We have played NS the first game of the past two seasons and it’s always been a tough battle.
I think Matt told me more than once this week after coming home from practice that he wouldn’t be surprised if we lost 150-0 (he’s a glass half empty kinda guy during football season, if you didn’t already know.) Well…he sure was wrong because we won 44-6!!!
Our defense was stellar, our offense amazing, and our special teams top notch. Congrats Katy! Let’s do it again this weekend against Alief Taylor!
Saturday we headed west to watch Jeff’s Chapparals from Westlake take on the Cavalier’s from Lake Travis. LT is a 4a team who currently is on a 44 game winning streak and holds the championship trophy in 4a for the past three years. Keep in mind that Westlake made it to the state finals last year so this was no small challenge for LT! The game was held at DKR on UT’s campus and was deemed the “Battle of the Lakes.”
Jeff’s team dominated until the 4th quarter and then LT took the lead and never looked back. Both teams were great and it was a hard-fought game. I would hate to face either team later this season!
Oh, and the Texans beat the Cowboys on Saturday too! Overall we had a lot of fun and it’s so fun to be back in season. I know Matt sure is happy, even if he did not get home before 9pm a single night last week. :(

Let the countdown begin
For our first football game of the 2010 season! Last night KHS held their annual Town Pep Rally to kickoff the school year/ fall sports season. It was rainy and humid and MISERABLE! I snuck up into the press box to get out of the rain so I didn’t get too many pictures.

Brooks Kathryne…
This little one has officially stolen my heart. She sleeps constantly, so much so that we have to wake her to eat and she constantly falls asleep while eating. She loves to be swaddled and HATES diaper changes. We can’t decide what color her eyes are going to be, right now they are blue/green/grayish. She is isolated to her bilibed through the weekend to get her biliruben levels down to help her jaundice. Sad for us because we can’t hold and cuddle her because she needs ot be in the bed as much as possible. :( Tomorrow will be her first “outing” to the pediatrician so we are hoping to get a good report. Oh and she LOVES her Mama! (and Aunt Amanda too!)

Oh baby! Maybe baby??
Well Laura is officially 1 day past her due date and we are currently sitting in the hospital listening to little Brooks’ heartbeat on the monitor anxiously awaiting her arrival!!
We went to the doctor this morning and Laura had not progressed so he sent her home. :( Her contractions were so intense and so close together on the way home I ended up turning the car around and calling the hospital to let them know we were on the way. We’ve been here since about 11 this morning with nothing but a long sheet of paper showing Laura’s contractions to prove it.
If Brooks doesn’t come on her own tonight (fingers crossed!) Laura will be induced tomorrow morning! The nurse gave her some medicine to help her sleep so currently I’m holding down the fort on a very uncomfortable couch. Keep you posted on our little ones pending arrival!

Oh baby! No baby…
That’s right, Laura is still pregnant with little Brooks. The doctor yesterday said it should happen within the next 24-48 hours so please keep your fingers crossed for them. I’ll update (probably on facebook) as soon as anything starts to happen.
Brooks Kathryne- we can’t wait to meet you and hold you! Come on out!
