Katy vs Cinco 2012

Saturday our Katy Tigers squared off against our rival Cinco Ranch Cougars and WON 35-21!!! Winning on Saturday against Cinco also clinched a share of the District Championship for us for the 4th year in a row.  Hopefully we will win again this Friday and seal the DC.  Annnnnnddddd.....Saturday marked the 500th win for KHS football!  So cool that we could be apart of that milestone, especially since Matt's directly been apart of at least 127 of the games, either as a player or a coach.

The game was at 11am and Carter and I had one heck of a morning so we walked in right at kick-off.  The temp's were supposed to be in the 80's so I had him in jeans at first but it was BLAZING! Between the direct sunshine and the humidity we were sweating up a storm...gross! It should be cooler in November, Texas...get it together!  Thankfully he fell asleep and slept most of the first half even in the heat.

I ran up to the press box (thank God we were the home team!) right before half so we could cool down and I could nurse him and no sooner did I make it up there did they call a lightening delay.  Strange to be sun shining and lightening, but we could also see the clouds a'coming.  We had some fun hanging out in the press box during halftime/ weather delay:

The second half resumed and it wasn't too much later that another lightening delay cleared the stadium and sent us running for the press box (the perks of being married to a coach!)  This time we were stranded for at least an hour and it poured!  There was worry about the game being called because there was a game scheduled to play after us that the district officials were worried about getting in, but Mother Nature eventually moved past us and we were able to resume game play.  And the rain brought in some much needed cloud cover and cooler temps!

Those dang fingers...

The best thing about the weather delays was that we got to spend a few stolen minutes with Daddy!  We also saw him for about 10 minutes after the game, but the moments together in the press box where Matt was playing with him were priceless.  My heart bursts watching my two boys together and I love thinking about future football seasons knowing Matt will eventually get to combine his job of coaching football and his job of being a dad when Carter is on the team.  :)

Friday we will play Memorial and then it's PLAY-OFF TIME!!
