Lonestar Jam

This weekend the hubs and I headed to Austin with some friends for the Lonestar Jam.  This is our last free weekend before spring football starts!

We had a fabulous time hanging out with our friends, listening to some great music and enjoying the beautiful Texas weather.

Happy birthday Mom!

Saturday was my beautiful mom’s birthday so we all got together Sunday night for a nice dinner.  Mom picked her favorite, Outback!  Afterwards we went back to the house for dessert and gifts.  Happy birthday Mom!!!

Softly call the Muster…

In many lands and climes this April day, proud sons of Texas A&M unite.
Our loyalty to country, school, we pray, and seal our pact with bond of common might.

We live again those happy days of yore on campus, field, in classroom, dorm, at drill
Fond memory brings a sigh — but nothing more; now we are men and life’s a greater thrill,

Before we part and go upon our way, we pause to honor those we knew so well;
The old familiar faces we miss so much today left cherished recollections that time cannot dispel.

Softly call the Muster,
Let comrade answer, “Here!”
Their spirits hover ‘round us
As if to bring us cheer!

Mark them ‘present’ in our hearts,
We’ll meet some other day.
There is no death, but life eterne
For our old friends such as they.

A few favorite things….

We haven’t been up to much in the past couple of weeks; I have been spending a lot of time at school with cheerleading and mascot tryouts.  Matt is about to start spring football which will keep him on his toes until school gets out (7 more weeks!!!!)

Last weekend Mom and Dad McDaniel got the hook up with some great seats at the Astros game.  We enjoyed a beautiful day with the roof open and good company.  If only we had seen some good baseball too :(

This week was a short week at school because Friday was a Bad Weather Makeup Day (which for the FIRST time in my teaching career we did not use!) and Thursday was the end of the six weeks and was early dismissal.  :)  Next week we have TAKS :(

Matt and I spent Saturday in my favorite place….COLLEGE STATION!  We headed up Hwy 6 for the A&M spring football game and to see some of Matt’s former players play.  It was a little overcast outside and breezy which was perfect football weather.  It was great to be back in the promised land!

We got treated to a wonderful performance by the Aggie band!

Another former Katy player, Don Bishop, was voted to be the 12th Man in the Aggie opening game next season

This weekend we are headed up to Austin for the Lone Star Jam, should be fun!

New blog layout

What do you think?  I felt like it had been awhile since I changed my background, and I also wanted a fun “springy” theme.

You like?

Happy Easter

easter

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
